Sharing Categories Across Teams

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

If your organization manages multiple brands or business units within the same category, sharing your Category across teams will provide a single, shared view of the Category, without disrupting how individual teams work.

Who is this for?

This feature is designed for organizations that:

  • Operate a portfolio of brands within the same or adjacent categories (e.g. a house of brands in health, food, or personal care)

  • Have multiple teams running their own research and concept testing in Ideally

  • Want a unified view of category demand across brands, rather than fragmented insights sitting in separate team workspaces

What can you do?

At the organization level

You get a bird's-eye view across the entire portfolio:

  • View a single, shared Category that spans all brands and teams in your organization

  • Use shared insights for internal alignment and external conversations, such as retailer discussions, with everyone speaking the same language

At the team level

Individual teams continue working exactly as they do today:

  • Access the shared category as the foundation for their work

  • Run their own projects and concept testing independently against the category

  • Maintain separate budgets, permissions, and workflows from other teams

  • Work without interference from other teams, while still contributing to the organization's shared view

Get started

The ability to share categories across teams is currently restricted to organization or enterprise admins.

  • Navigate to your Admin Dashboard on either the Organization or Enterprise level

  • Select 'Category' on the left menu

  • For the category you wish to share, select all the teams or organizations you wish to have access to the category

    • This will display the category for each team and allow all testing within each team to be run against the shared category

    • Teams will not be able to see tests from other teams despite viewing a shared category

  • If you'd also like to access the category at the organization or enterprise level, simply toggle on 'Show in organization/enterprise'

    • This will display the category at the organization or enterprise level

    • It will also display all the tests run on all the child teams of the organization or enterprise
