Introducing the Message Test

A Message Test on Ideally allows you to understand how consumers react to claims, taglines, or creative executions. Using validated metrics, you can benchmark your results against industry standards and receive guidance on how to polish your messaging. This ensures you present your brand’s story in the most compelling way possible.


What we measure

To understand how consumers perceive and engage with your messages, we examine the following metrics:

Likeability: How well do people respond to this message?

Distinctiveness: How unique is it compared to others in its category?

Brand recognition: Is it clear which brand this message represents?

Open ended: What key idea or insight did people take away from this message?

You also have the flexibility to test multiple different messages within the same Message Test, allowing you to compare, refine, and select the strongest option.
